February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Thank you for stopping by my little crafting corner.  If you have come from Maureen's blogyou are on the right path.  Or if you are just starting here, read this post and click on the link at the end to keep hopping along for more artwork.

I have a couple of projects using the Stamp of the Month for February.  The first one is a little writing tablet cover made using the Buzz and Bumble Paper Pack.  There is a piece of Cocoa Card Stock that wraps from front to back and attaches to the piece of Champagne Card Stock.  The bee and bee trail stamps are from the Buzz and Bumble Workshop on the Go.  The flowers are from the Paradise Paper Flowers Pack.  Pewter Brads complete the flowers.  The background under the bee is stamped with the flower from (B1398) Just For You.
A peek at the tablet inside of the cover.  I used Velcro to fasten the cover down so it lays flat.
A closeup of the bee.  Just a little popping up makes a lot of difference.

I also needed another Valentine to give this month.  I used paper from the For Always paper pack.  Ruby ink and card stock add a little pop, don't you think?  A Dimensional Heart, a Foundry Metal Pin Clip and the Black Striped Grosgrain finish it off.  Pink Glitter Gems are under the sentiment to add a bit of sparkle.

Home Sweet Home (S1302) is a great 4 stamp set to use on all kinds of projects.  And don't forget, you can get your very own for just $5 with a $50 purchase.  Now hop on over to Misty's blog to see what she has created!

A Little Sneak Peak

This is one of my most favorite pictures of my mom and dad.  No one knows when it was taken, but I'm thinking back when they were first dating.  It could even be an engagement picture, but my mom doesn't remember.  Anyway, it is a favorite.  I got my layout idea from the Make It From Your Heart pattern book.  Mine is almost identical to Pattern #7 on page 18; it's a great page to make.

The papers are from the New Spring/Summer Idea Book.  The pack is called For Always and is just gorgeous.  Black, Desert Sand, Honey, Lagoon, Ruby Slate and Whisper.  You can't go wrong with those colors.   The wording on the bottom of the layout is the zip strip and it says:  Everyone says you only fall in love once, but that's not true, because every time I see you. I fall in love all over again.  Isn't that so sweet.

Supplies:
For Always Paper Pack (X7165B), Whisper Card Stock
A Typeface (A1117)
Black Ink
Cricut Art Philosophy Letters
Paradise Assortment Bakers Twine, Black Opaques. Black Striped Grosgrain, Tags Dimensional Elements, Black Buttons, Lagoon and Clear Buttons (retired) and Popdots

February 1st is just around the corner.  Check out the new Idea Book to find all kinds of great new things.

Ride em Cowboys

This picture is from the 60's when I was growing up.  We had ponies and so did all of the neighbors.  We rode up and down the ditches, in the fields and just anywhere we could.  What a group of outlaws!  I was given this picture, but I don't have an exact date.  I don't know now many times I forget to label a picture with dates and names.  That is such an important thing to do.  I need to contact her and get that.  I am on the pony second from the left.  Those were the good old days.

This layout sketch comes from Creative Scrappers.  Check out all of their fabulous artwork.

Too Cute

I know this is the wrong season, but I am trying to catch up on my fall pictures.  So, this will be the last for now and I will get into the spring mode.  I will skip posting Christmas, because that is just wrong.  I can't do that when I am dreaming of Spring.  This is a combination of Flirty and Moonlight.  The page is from Magic and it does have a companion page, but I didn't want to overdue the cuteness.

A Friday Mashup Challenge

I was looking around the web the other day and came upon this great website with card sketches.  I always like to find new ideas and get inspiration from alot of sources.  Here is a sketch I found to try.
Those cute little cogs are from the Cricut Artiste Collection.  Aren't they cute?  Paper is Dakota and the sentiment is Just A Number (D1514).  The card base is Kraft Card Stock. If you want to visit the Friday Mashup website, click here.  Thanks for looking.

Love

Love is in the air.  Do you have that special someone who will be needing a Valentine?  Here is a simple card using CTMH's Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1. There are two stampsets used here:  Love (A1131) and the stamp set from Whooo's Your Valentine.  The colors are Cranberry, Black and White.  A little Cranberry button finishes it off.  Another simple but thoughtful card.

An Everyday Thankyou

I love blue...it doesn't really have to be a certain blue.  Just any blue.  I get chills when I see those sea blue colors together...like you see in the magazines.  Silly, isn't it.  The blues in this card are peaceful blues in my opinion.  There are Crystal Blue and Pacifica here.  With a little grey and black thrown in.  I used A Little Thanks(D1444)  for the sentiment.  Silver Brads and Grey Wool Baker's Twine rounds it out.  Have you used blue today?  It will make you feel good all over.

Flirty Will Soon Be Gone

If you didn't get this great paper pack, it will soon be retired and gone. There are several paper packs from the current catalog along with certain embellishments that will retire at the end of this month.  It might show up sometime in the "while supplies last" list, but do you want to take that chance?  This has been such a fun paper pack to use.  Don't miss out on getting your very own.

A Valentine

Valentine's Day kind of sneaks up on me if I am not paying attention.  With all of the flurry of winter and remnants of Christmas, it is here before I know it.  This year, I have gotten a head start.  I'm the one who is looking for heart napkins and paper plates the second week of February.  Not this year, I have mine already.

This is the Stamp of the Month for January.  The flowers and sayings are just gorgeous. This is a good candidate for markers.  And I think that these flowers will be showing up on more than just Valentine cards for me.

Supplies:
White Daisy, Cotton Candy and Hollyhock Cardstock
Black and Cotton Candy Ind
Alcohol Markers: Cotton Candy and New England Ivy
Cuttlebug Folder, Pop Dots

Happy Birthday...Artiste Style

I sometimes forget about the wonderful stamp sets that come with the two Cricut cartridges we have.  Art Philosophy and Artiste.  Here is an example of one from Artiste.
I really like this one!  Great words, banners and images.  Below, I used it to make a really simple birthday card using the Dakota Paper Pack.  I love the stripe piece that come with the pack.  And notice the balloon string.  How cute is that!

Supples:
Dakota Paper Pack
White Daisy and Pacifica Card Stock
Cranberry, Black and Pacifica Inks
Pop Dots

Check out those stamp sets.  Get them out and use them!

A little Dakota

I thought I would try my hand at using the Dakota Paper Pack.  It seems like I have gotten side tracked with other business lately.  I really needed to create something.  Here is a standard card using Dakota as well as Black and Barn Red Cardstock.  The stamp set is Casual Expressions (D1525).  I tried to distress the sentiment a bit.  The white seemed too stark.  There are also sparkles from the Black and Grey Assortment (Z1754).  Also notice the zip strip from the paper pack.  I just love using those.  This card will be offered in the "Guy" card workshop next week.  I hope the girls like it.

Stay warm!
