Distressed

That's the challenge over at Heart2Heart.  Use distressing in a project.  So I made this 5x7 card with the May Stamp of the Month.  My favorite ways to distress are sponging the edges of paper with Desert Sand Ink.  I think that color gives it a soft look.  I also like to sand and scissors distress.  Sanding so the white core shows on the edges of the card stock is a great way to distress paper.  Also, run the blades of your scissors along the edges to make a rough edge.  Check out their website for more distressed looks!

Supplies used:
Colonial White, Creme Brulee and Twilight Card Stock
Desert Sand and Creme Brulee Ink
Florentine Paper Pack
Friendship Bouquet (S1205) and The Best Things (C1503)
Wooden Buttons and Waxy Flax
Microtip Scissors,Sanding Kit, Pop Dots, Sponge

More Friendship Bouquet

A little different from the previous cards.  I used Cotton Candy and Black together on the left and Buttercup with Black on the right.  I also used Card Chatter Sympathy (D1476) on these.

Seems like the big color combo I have been seeing lately is grey and yellow.  So this card was made using the Dotty For You Paper Pack along with Buttercup and Grey Wool.  A little Baker's Twine finishes it out.  What do you this of this color combo?

Been Away Too Long

Boy, how time flies!  Don't you just hate when people say that.  :)  We have been so busy with family this month, that my blog has suffered.  But fear not!  More art to come.

The May SOTM is Friendship Bouquet (S1205) and is just great to make those fast simple cards.  These cards were made using our Water Color Pencils.  Just stamp, color and you are done.  The card on the left has Garden Green CS and Antiqued Copper Brads, and the right side uses Black and Honey CS.  The inks on both is Black and Desert Sand.  How simple!
