A girl's best friend?

As it is turning out this winter, these UGGs have been a lifesaver. I wear them everywhere. I am sure that I look like Nanuk of the North, but my feet are warm and dry. Who knew that it would be almost March and I would still need my boots. I am one who usually wears clogs everywhere. I am not even sure they are still called clogs, you know, those backless shoes that you can just slip on and keep on going. Not those plastic things, but something in real leather.

I still think maybe diamonds would be a girl's best friend in a normal year, but my boots are right up there too.
This is a picture looking straight out my back door. The drift is taller than me and runs the length of my house. See what I mean?

Another piece of cake!

I was visiting a website the other day that I subscribe too and found this sketch. And with inspiration from Christine Adams on the colors, this is what I came up with. Go to http://365cards.blogspot.com/ and look at the other card designs there.

On this card, I used Chocolate, Creme Brulee and Colonial White cardstock. I used the Piece of Cake stamp set again as well as Chocolate ink. There is a piece of Chocolate Dot ribbon and Colonial White ribbon along with Bitty Sparkles. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the scallops. The cupcakes and stand are paper pieced with cardstock. I think the colors are yummy!

Piece of Cake

I tried another color combo that I found on http://www.closetomyheart.com/. This one includes Pansy Purple, Petal, Baby Pink and Sweet Leaf. The stamp set is D1407 Piece of Cake. This is the Stamp of the Month for February. The cake is paper pieced and I added a Sweet Leaf Button and a piece of retired Amethyst Waxy Flax.

This stamp set includes cakes and cupcakes decorated perfectly for any occasion. It won't be available after February 28th!

I'm Singing the Blues

Close To My Heart blues, that is. I decided to take the Monday challenge from http://www.jeanettelynton.com/ and make a card.

I used D1410 One of a Kind to make this standard sized card. My supplies were:
Crystal Blue, Outdoor Denim and Garden Green CS
Crystal Blue, Twilight and Garden Green Ink
White and Outdoor Denim brads, pop dots
I also used my Cuttlebug and Nestibilities to cut out the shape.

This stamp set is full of funky flowers and leaves to use for scrapbook pages and cards. Find it in the Spring Idea Book

Lucy Lu

You wouldn't think that something this little and furry could bring so much joy. This little Shih Poo named Lucy has been so much fun to have around. Even Jim has decided that she is here to stay. She has become quite verbal too. A little growl by the couch means "pick me up and put me on there", or just tonight, she was ready to go to bed before we were, so she stood by the bed and gave that little growl again. Not spoiled at all....... Love my little Shih Poo named Lucy Lu.

Tuesday Throwdown

I was visiting Kim Scherrod's Studio again today and thought I would try another card. I used some retired CTMH items on this one. I have to change my ways. Start using up that paper! I used Amethyst and Heavenly Blue, Victorian Snowflake and the retired Christmas Scripts stamp set. I also used a retired snowflake button, amethyst ribbon and Background and Texture Paper. The White Daisy ricrac is from the Ricrac Collection. I embossed the snowflakes with Silver Pearl Embossing Powder.
